Yves Tumor, Jordan Ward, Elyanna and Weston Estate will take the stage for this year’s Spring Weekend on Sunday, April 21, according to Brown Concert Agency.
The festival will be one day this year due to significant cuts in BCA’s budget and rising production costs, The Herald previously reported.
Students who attended the BCA’s lineup release party expressed excitement about the lineup.
“I didn’t really know any of the artists by name, but I really liked the music, so I’m pumped,” said Annie Witt ’27 at the party.
Other attendees had similar reactions. “I also didn’t know the artists — I only listen to mainstream artists — but I’m excited,” Victoria Hernandez ’27 said.
“I haven’t heard of some of them, but people were excited, so I’m excited,” Alicia Joo ’26 told The Herald.
Some students also expressed dissatisfaction in the comment section of BCA’s Instagram post announcing the lineup.
Yves Tumor is an experimental musician based in Italy. They have released four albums, the most recent of which, “Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds),” came out in 2023. Tumor also featured in Willow’s Smith’s 2023 release, “Perfectly Not Close to Me.”
“I know Weston Estate and Yves Tumor, and I’m excited to see them live,” Gaby Choi ’26, another student who attended the party, said.
After making a career for himself as a backup dancer for artists including Justin Bieber and Becky G, Jordan Ward pivoted to music, releasing his first EP, “A Peak at the Summit,” in 2017 as an R&B singer/songwriter.
A Palestinian-Chilean songwriter, Elyanna performed at Coachella 2023, where she was the first artist to sing a full set in Arabic, according to Rolling Stone. She has released two EPs, “Elyanna” and “Elyanna II,” and is slated to release her debut album “Woledto” next week. She will also appear at Lollapalooza in August.
Weston Estate is a North Carolina-based indie band that calls themselves “ya aunty’s favorite boy band.” Members Tanmay Joshi, Abhi Manhass, Srikar Nanduri, Marco Luka and Manas Panchavati released their first single, “Cotton Candy,” in 2019.
