To the Editor:
Using the term "security" when one means "event management" is inaccurate ("Possible security shift rankles some," Oct. 5). This critical challenge can be more accurately defined as undergraduate activities' "event management," not "security." The Department of Athletics and Physical Education initially and later the Student Activities Office employed Green Horn Management to assist them in managing undergraduate games and functions, not security. The Department of Public Safety has always been available for security. Undergraduate games and undergraduate-sponsored events continue to need the quality event management services they have been receiving. Please redefine the issue and then move forward.
