To the Editor:
Herald opinion writers tend to broadcast sharp criticisms of Brown, and while these are valuable, it's also nice to see the occasional upbeat perspective. It was with pleasure, then, that I read the recent column by Oliver Doren '14 ("The myth of Brunonian progressivism," Jan. 27). To Doren, not only do we attend an institution whose "iconoclastic roots … predate the nation itself," but one whose students will go on to "serve as the leaders of our generation." Well! Here I was thinking that it would be tough to get a job in this economy, but it'll be awfully nice to have the "control" of "modern industrial society" to fall back on.
