The 2013 Class Board has been selling T-shirts — marketed as "official" — to the sophomore class. The sales were conducted on the Main Green by 2013 Class Board representatives.
Brandon Tomasso '13, president of the class board, said the sales were held to "promote class unity." The shirts, designed by Paola Eisner '13 and Annie Wu '13, were chosen from several options submitted in a contest held last year.
In an e-mail sent to the student body advertising the sale, the shirts were dubbed the "Class of 2013 tee shirts."
"It's official because the class coordinating board developed it," Tomasso said. "We put it together, and we're selling it to the class. It's not like one of the ones you get off of those websites that sell Ivy League merchandise. It's not something designed by some other entity — it's actually the class of 2013 that designed it, and it's for the class specifically."
The shirt costs $13, and the class board has sold approximately 100 shirts. "We were confident that we would be able to reach out and provide a better service to our class," Tomasso said. Sales of the shirt will be conducted periodically on the Main Green.
Some students decided not to buy the shirt. "I have too many T-shirts as it is, so I'm not going to spend $13 on a T-shirt and not wear it," said Rebecca Corman '13.
