Earlier this month, The Herald published a letter signed by Philip Kloss '11 ("Transfers a valuable addition to Brown," April 10). Since its publication, the editors have learned that no student with that name is currently enrolled at Brown.
The Herald has a strict policy to verify the identity of authors of letters. The author or authors of the letter in question used a Brown e-mail address that matched the name that was submitted, but did not respond to further e-mails from editors after publication of the letter. The editors regret the error.
