UMass comes back to defeat field hockey

The field hockey team (1-5) fell to UMass 2-1 in overtime at home on Tuesday after surrendering a 1-0 lead late in the second half. Leslie Springmeyer '12 scored Brown's lone goal off a pass from Sara Eaton '09 on a man-up opportunity with 7:06 remaining in the second half. The Minutewomen answered back with 4:18 remaining in the game with a goal off their 14th corner of the game. Brown never got control of the ball in the 15-minute overtime period, however, and UMass emerged triumphant after putting one in the back of the net at 4:09 into overtime.
