Five players on the women's soccer team received postseason honors on Wednesday. Two players were placed on second team All-Ivy, while three Bears received honorable mention.
Tri-captain and goalkeeper Hilary Wilson '06 made the jump from honorable mention to second team All-Ivy this year. Wilson again led the Ivies in saves with 127, nearly 50 more than the next closest goalkeeper. It was the second consecutive year that she accomplished such a feat, stopping 65 more shots than any other goalkeeper last season. She also recorded four shutouts for the second consecutive year and finished second in the Ivies with a save percentage of .858.
Kim LaVere '06 earned her third All-Ivy honor, after she was named first-team last year and given an honorable mention in 2002. The honor is the second LaVere has garnered this season - on Monday she was named Second Team District I CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.
Also receiving recognition for Brown were Lindsay Cunningham '09, Kathryn Moos '07 and Jill Mansfield '07, all of whom were given honorable mention. For Moos, who is also a member of the women's ice hockey team, this selection marks the third time in a row she has garnered such an honor. She finished this season as the team's second leading scorer, netting three goals and three assists for nine points.
Mansfield, meanwhile, was the team's fourth leading scorer and a crowd favorite by virtue of her exciting flip throw-ins.
Cunningham had a stunning debut season, leading the team in scoring by recording six goals and one assist for 13 points. She was one of only five rookies to earn All-Ivy recognition.
